Draft Bill Voted Down
The House of Representatives yesterday overwhelmingly (402-2) voted down HR 163, which would have required two years of universal national service of all Americans between the ages of 18 and 26. This is an important start, but I once again urge you to contact your Representative in the House and ask him or her to vote for HR 4746, the Selective Service Registration Termination Act. Let's end Selective Service Registration and tear out the apparatus that could enable this or a future administration to restore a draft.
